MFTC 114 - College Algebra


This course establishes a foundation of mathematical modeling. Topics to be covered are linear, quadratic, power, exponential, and logarithmic functions. Topics are developed in a practical context with applications to business and economic concepts such as profit, revenue, cost, break-even analysis, supply and demand, and depreciation. Additional topics to be covered include systems of equations and inequalities, matrices, and linear programming.

Prerequisite: MFTC 097-Elements of Algebra or MFTC 099-Introduction to Algebra or placement into MFTC 114
