ACOM 266 - Psychology


This course introduces students to the major schools of thought and the essential language of psychology. In dialogue with the students’ own experience, learning interests and questions, course material includes a comprehensive view of psychology, utilizing four major psychological perspectives: psychodynamic (Freudian), behaviorist, humanistic, and cognitive-developmental. Topics include personality development, motivation, learning and abnormality. Students explore identity and human potential. In addition, they will develop a basic vocabulary in psychology, an understanding of the major perspectives in psychology, and the ability to think critically about the dynamics of human behavior.
