Academic Probation

To be considered in good academic standing, graduate students must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.00. Students whose cumulative GPA is below a 3.00 are placed on academic probation for one semester. During that time, the student must return to good academic standing by raising their cumulative GPA to a 3.00 by the end of the probationary period. If students do not raise their overall GPA to at least a 3.00 by the end of the probationary period, they will be subject to dismissal  . To assist the student in focusing on their academic performance, participation in one-credit internships and volunteer opportunities through the Department of Career and Internship Services are restricted. Main campus students on academic probation may not register for online or hybrid courses and may register for no more than nine credits in a semester.  Online program students on academic probation may register for no more than three credits during Module 1 and six credits during Module 2. Students who wish to take more than the permitted course load, must gain approval from the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs or designee.
