Academic probation results when a student fails two or more remedial courses in a semester or does not meet the minimum established academic requirements listed in the Satisfactory Academic Progress chart below:

For purposes of evaluation, Access students are considered as entering their third term (first semester sophomores) at LIM College when they first enter the College. Most transfer students entering the Upper Division will be considered fifth semester (first semester juniors) students when they first enter LIM College.
Academic probation is not considered punitive, rather it alerts the student of the need to put more effort into his/her work and implies that the College believes the student can perform effectively enough to achieve the necessary grades. A student on academic probation is still considered to be in good standing. However, he/she can lose that status by remaining on academic probation for two successive terms or for a total of three terms. In an effort to help the student achieve academic success, he or she is limited to register for no more than 16 course hours per semester. |
